Racing for Fertility

Before I ever lined up on a race grid, I was fighting a different kind of battle. A silent one that consumed my thoughts and tested every part of who I was. Infertility wasn’t something I expected to face, and when it hit, I didn’t know where to turn. I threw myself into karting at the time, using racing as a distraction from the emotional chaos that comes when your dream of starting a family feels like it’s slipping away.

That escape slowly became a passion, and in 2019, I made my debut in the Ginetta Racing Drivers Club. Becoming a racing driver felt like the dream I never knew I could achieve. But it didn’t feel right to just race for the sake of it. I wanted to give my story purpose, to do something meaningful with it. That’s when Racing for Fertility was born.

The name came naturally. I was racing, but I was also aware that fertility itself is, in many ways, a race against time. Women face the ticking clock of menopause, and couples everywhere face emotional, physical and financial pressures as they try to conceive. It felt right that my racing journey could help drive awareness and give a voice to something that so many people silently struggle with.

Today, one in seven couples in the UK experience fertility challenges, and in around half of those cases, a male factor plays a role. Yet, men are still far less likely to seek help or even talk about it. I’ve seen firsthand how the silence can break people. Fertility problems aren’t just medical, they’re emotional. They can shake your confidence, your relationships, and your sense of identity.

Through Racing for Fertility, I wanted to challenge that silence. Motorsport isn’t the first place you’d expect to find conversations about fertility, and that’s exactly why I chose it. The roar of the engines, the fans, the excitement — it’s the perfect platform to make people stop and listen. Awareness only grows when we start talking, and racing has given me that reach.

Over the past few years, the campaign has reached hundreds of couples across the UK and beyond. I’ve had the privilege of connecting with people who’ve shared their journeys with me, some of them at race weekends, others through social media. The most emotional moments are when I receive a message or a photo from a couple who’ve gone on to have a baby. Knowing that something I started helped them take that next step — maybe through awareness, support, or finding the right treatment — it’s impossible to describe how that feels. It’s what keeps me going.

We’ve had media coverage across BBC News, The Times, The Sun, and Men’s Fitness Magazine, along with features on ITV4 during race weekends. The campaign has opened doors to work with the Royal College of Nursing to improve how healthcare professionals support men in fertility care. Every bit of exposure helps more couples realise they’re not alone.

A huge part of what’s made this campaign powerful is the partnership with Testhim. They’re doing incredible work to improve men’s fertility awareness and diagnosis. Too often, male fertility testing stops at a basic semen analysis, but Testhim looks deeper. They help identify underlying conditions that might otherwise go unnoticed, giving couples better chances of success. They’ve built a service that makes men feel supported, understood, and empowered to take action.

Together, we’ve created something bigger than racing. It’s a movement that’s helping people take control of their future, one conversation at a time. I’ve learned that purpose and performance can sit side by side. You can fight for podiums while fighting for something that truly matters.

Racing has always been about focus, teamwork, and belief. Those same values drive Racing for Fertility. It’s about hope, resilience, and the power of connection.

I’m still a racing driver chasing tenths on the track, but every time I put on my helmet, I know I’m also racing for something far greater.

For me, every lap is for the couples still fighting for their dream of a family.
